In this sample you hear a recording from inside a well sound insulated room, directly under the roof of a house. Strong rain hints the roof and produces low frequency muted sounds. In the background you hear the constant noise of the rain, coming through the window. There are also a few raindrops hitting the glass of the window. The sample was recorded using the built-in stereo microphone of a zoom h4n recorder. It was slightly processed to remove unwanted low and high frequencies which were not related to the actual recording. Sound made by a small electric motor cranking and reversing a lever (on an infant's glider/sleeper). This take has multiple repeats of the sound (a different take i have here provides just one repeat of the sound). If you pitch-shift this down about six steps and add a metal/plate/hall reverberation effect, it sounds remarkably like a sound you hear in the carbonite chamber scene in the empire strikes back :). This was recorded with a sony icd-st voice recorder held next to the glider, then noise removed with an audio tool, then normalized. I request but don't demand credit to me (richard alexander hall) for any use of this sound.

Real recording of an ar15 layered minimally with a kick drum for sub-bass region and trigger sound and processed with some plugins like transient designers, multiband compression and clipping. This is a larger stream in the shawnee national forest. At this particular point on the stream had a large log over which the water was flowing gently. . . . Not as much gurgling and popping sounds, just a nice smooth, flowing sound.

The sound is of an lg french-door refrigerator that just had the compressor replaced but had too much freon loaded. The tubing dedicated to the freezer section accumulated frost which internal fan blades were rubbing against. Later, a savvy technician released some measure of freon and the sound went away. So the sound is now only a memory. No effects or alteration has been applied. The sound was recorded using 'voice record pro' by dayana networks ltd using an iphone 11, ios 15. 6.

I recorded the sound of my alarm clock using a zoom h4n recorder and a rode m3 microphone. I can picture this sound being used at the start of an audio documentary that discusses the morning routine of someone who has to wake up early everyday. Maybe even the start of a film; this loud and obnoxious noise is an instant attention-grabber.

I needed the sound of newspapers being tossed by a delivery boy for a performance of "our town" i recorded this using a zoom h2, while tossing newspapers against my house. There are two similar recordings for two different acts. I filtered out background noise using audacity.
